U7-U10 DEVELOPMENTAL ACADEMY PROGRAM

FCSA ACADEMY PROGRAM - general
The academy model has received great praise as the “cutting edge” for player development. First
Coast Soccer was the FIRST club in Jacksonville to adopt the academy model of training. FCSA
academy has grown to include programs for players aged 6-12 years old. The academy program is
divided into U7-U10 developmental academy and U9-U12 travel academy.

DEVELOPMENTAL ACADEMY PROGRAM - specifics
The program stresses player development over wins and losses. Players attend training 2 times per
week with the club trainers in a program directed by the DOC of Academy. The program is specific for
the age and developmental level of the players and allows players to progress at their own rate. Some
of the skills covered include dribbling, receiving, turning, shielding, passing, shooting. There will also
be sessions on attacking and defending, rules of the game, team shape and space.
Teams will work in the 4v4 format. U8 players who are ready will play 6v6 in the spring.

FOR WHO?    U7-U10 players
Players practice with academy players and are trained by the club training staff.
They play on an academy teams (academy players do not play on a recreational team) and play against
other academy teams &/or recreational teams. 12 week season.

COST –Includes 24 training sessions, field usage, game play, age-specific curriculum, training shirt,
player evaluation, equipment, and administration.
U7,8 - $180 per season,    U9,10 – $190 per season

WHEN
Tuesdays and Fridays, 6:00-7:30 pm. Two seasons – one in fall and one in spring – play one season or
both.

GAMES – Saturdays
U7,8 games - All games will be at Patton Park Saturdays
U9,10 games – games at Patton Park with 2-3 inter-club games against local clubs home or away.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE
For fall season – July 31, 2008 Academy training starts in mid/late August.
For spring season – January 31, 2009. Academy training starts in mid/late February.
$25 late fee if register after deadline.
