First Coast Soccer Club History
Beaches Soccer Association was organized in the fall of 1977 by a group of parents associated with Offshore Power Systems. There were 220 boys and girls in the program that first season. In the spring of 1995 the membership team representatives voted to establish our name as First Coast Soccer Association. This name change more accurately describes the demographics of our club which attracts players from all over the First Coast and beyond. A new era of the Association began in September, 1990 with the dedication of the San Pablo fields. The adult league was formed in 1990 and in 1998, a women’s league was formed.

As soccer has grown in popularity and the City of Jacksonville has grown, it was identified that more soccer facilities were needed. FCSA, with the help of City Council developed the plan for the First coast Soccer Complex at Patton Park. After much hard work by many members and City councilmen, a grant from the City of Jacksonville, First Coast Soccer played its first season at Patton Park in 2001. Through First Coast Soccer financing and ongoing community support, Patton Park continues to be an outstanding facility with 7 lit full fields, stadium and 3 junior fields.

First Coast Soccer has been instrumental in bringing top-level soccer to Jacksonville and these events have significant economic impact on the city. In 1992, the inaugural First Coast Labor Day Shootout Tournament hosted over 80 teams from around the Southeast and continues to be a popular season opening tournament. 11v11 (formerly Score at the Shore South) is in its 5th year and attracts teams from all over the country. US Club National Cup is another event that draws teams from the southeast as they compete to advance to the National Championship.

Many other events are held at Patton Park including adult men, women and coed leagues high school games, High School Gateway Conference Tournament,  middle school games, Region III premiere league games, military all-star tournament, Downs’s Syndrome soccer, and more.

FCSA is a non-profit organization and is affiliated with Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA) and the United States Youth Soccer Association.
