Expectations parents & players

Responsibilities of the Player

  1. Players are expected to conduct themselves at all times in a manner which is in keeping with representing FCSA and not bring discredit upon the organization.
  2. Players shall refrain from using profanity during games or practices.
  3. Player will show respect toward referees, opposing players, coaches and fans. They will not harass, abuse, or berate a referee for any reason.
  4. Players shall not participate in physical violence or threats thereof during games or practice.
  5. Attendance at training and all games is mandatory for development. Make up sessions must be pre-approved by the team coach.
  6. Players should bring cleats, running shoes, shin guards, water, and usable soccer ball to practice.
  7. Players are expected to show respect for all coaches and adhere to all instructions.
  8. Players shall be on time and prepared for all practices and games as outline by their coach.
  9. Players will play within the Spirit and Laws of the Game.
  10. Players maintain the highest standard of conduct and good sportsmanship.
  11. Players are expected to wear the approved and club uniform during practices and games.
  12. Playing time is not automatic; it is earned. Players normally will receive enough playing time for their continued development. However, the coach will determine an individual player’s actual playing time. Playing may not be equal in a game or weekend. Playing time should be measured over the course of the season.

Responsibilities of the Parent/Spectators

  1. Parents must set the example by exemplifying the highest standards of sportsmanship.
  2. Parents participate in a game by watching, cheering and supporting the efforts of all participants.
  3. Parents must understand that the game is for the players, their participation and enjoyment is the most important element.
  4. Parents shall maintain a professional relationship with their child’s coach and FCSA and avoid a confrontation immediately following the game. Should a parent need to talk with a coach, a full 24 hours is needed before contact can be made.
  5. Parents must never criticize a coach in a public manner.
  6. Parents will exhibit good sportsmanship and refrain from foul language and verbal abuse of players, coaches, referees, opponents or spectators.
  7. Parents shall refrain from criticism during games or practices.
  8. Parents shall not coach or otherwise instruct players during practices or games.
  9. Parents shall avoid "reply all" email chains with concerns and shall call the coach or FCSA directly to discuss such concerns.
  10. Parents are expected to have their child on time for training and games.
  11. Parents shall stay current on all financial obligations to FCSA and the team.
  12. Parents are encouraged to get involved with the Club and promote the game in a positive way.
