REASON FOR INTEREST

I have 2 daughters in the Academy program and I’ll have another daughter starting Recreational Soccer next year. I am going to be involved with the program for a long time and I want to help oversee the growth of the Club. I have attended nearly every Academy practice and game of both of my daughters the past few years and have learned the game very well. I have volunteered with coaching and the managing of games for the past year, as well. You can usually find me at Patton Park nearly every night during the fall and spring seasons, so I have worked with many of the trainers. I have seen the Academy Program grow the past few years and would like to help it prosper even more.

I would like to participate on the Academies Committee and really focus on that part of the Club. I also want to get more involved in coaching, as I plan on coaching a U5 Rec. team next fall and will have continued involvement with the Academy Program. I really want to see more kid’s crossing over to the Academy program from Rec. teams so First Coast Soccer can have the best of the best kids competing against the other Soccer Clubs we play. I would like to see the program have more Inter-Club games at a younger age because I believe there has to be a good mix of teaching soccer and promoting competition at the same time. I would also like to bring a 3 v 3 tournament to Patton Park, as it is a growing type of soccer and it could provide a good boost of income to the Club. I would also like to help continue the outstanding reputation of our club’s facilities by trying to add new playing fields and continuing to keep the ones we have in excellent condition. By doing this we could attract more players, games and tournaments and further separate our Club’s reputation at the best in Northern Florida.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Played football on the college and pro level, assisted with Rec and Academy practices and games for the past 4 years. I have also assisted coaches for many 3V3 Soccer tournaments.

I just retired from 9 years of professional football in the NFL

I have experienced athletics on the highest level in college and in the professional ranks, with the honor of winning a Super Bowl in 2001 with the New England Patriots. I also had the privilege of being elected captain for the 1996 University of Notre Dame football team. I have played with the likes of Steve Young, Jerry Rice, and Tom Brady and played for coaches Lou Holtz and Bill Belichick. I have been a leader and been around some of the best leaders in athletics. I believe my experiences in football, along with my involvement in soccer over the past 4 years could benefit the children and teens in the soccer club. I will use my knowledge and experience of the intensity, strategy, work ethic and teamwork that it takes to be successful in team sports to benefit the club and players within the club. I look forward to many more years of continued excellence within First Coast Soccer. Thank you for the opportunity to better this organization for all of our children.
