The academy model has received great praise as the “cutting edge” for player development. First Coast Soccer was FIRST in the area to adopt this method of developing our younger players.
Players attend training 2 times per week with the club trainers in a program directed by the Director of Coaching of Academy. The program is specific for the age and developmental level of the players and focuses on skills development and introduction to principles of play. The program stresses player development over wins and losses. Teams work in the 6v6 format.
FOR WHO? U11 and U12 players
Players practice with academy players and are trained by the club training staff.
They play on an academy team (academy players do not play on a recreational team). We will form 1 U11,12 boys and 1 U11,12 girls developmental teams. If we have more players than we can accommodate, we will evaluate players each season for placement on developmental teams – those not selected will play in the recreational program.
WHEN
Tuesdays and Fridays, 6:00-7:30 pm (note – there may be different training days depending on the developmental coaching staff – TBA each season).
